Card fraud protection

Frequently asked questions

How will this affect my existing card?
There is no change unless fraudulent or suspicious activity occurs.

What happens when suspicious activity occurs?
A Fraud Prevention Specialist will attempt to contact you at the phone number on file. A block may be placed on your card until the transaction is verified.

What happens if fraud occurs?
Your card will be blocked, and a new card will be issued. You will need to file a fraud claim.

What if the charge is legitimate but Peak can’t reach me?
A Fraud Prevention Specialist will leave a voicemail if possible. A block may remain until you verify the transaction. Call (866) 272-4481 to unblock your card.

What if I travel or make a large purchase?
Travel and large purchases don’t always trigger a block, but if your card is blocked, call (866) 272-4481 to verify and unblock.

What will Peak Fraud Prevention Services ask?
They will verify your identity before discussing transactions.

How can I protect my account?
Monitor your accounts regularly in online banking or the mobile app.

What can I expect from Peak Fraud Prevention Services?
They will only call for suspicious activity and leave a callback number if they can’t reach you. They cannot assist with other Peak Credit Union services.
