How to transfer money to and from your Peak  account

Learn how to set up external transfers, move money between accounts, and manage recurring transfers in Digital Banking

You can transfer money to or from your Peak Credit Union accounts using our External Transfer service. This allows you to pull funds from another institution to your Peak accounts or transfer money from Peak to another institution at no extra cost—all within Digital Banking!

This is an easy, convenient way to:

  • Prevent overdrafts from future bill payments
  • Send funds to cover payments with other institutions
  • Build your savings account

Note: External transfers can only be used to move money to and from a savings or checking account, and you must be an account owner on the account you are linking to Peak Credit Union.

How to set up external transfers

Before you can transfer money outside Peak, you'll need to set up external accounts:

  1. Click Add External Account on the left-hand side of your Digital Banking.
  2. On the Add External Transfer page, enter the routing and account number for the account you’d like to pull money from or send money to.
  3. Within 5 business days, test deposits will appear on the external account.
  4. Once the test deposits are received by your other institution, go to Step 2: Verify Your Account.
  5. After verification, you can set up one-time or recurring transfers to send money from Peak or transfer money into your Peak savings or checking account(s).

How to transfer funds

When you’re logged into Digital Banking:

  1. Select Transfer and Payments from the menu.
  2. Select Transfer. You’ll see both Peak Credit Union and external accounts under the From and To fields.
  3. Choose which account you'd like to transfer funds from and which account you'd like the funds to go to.
  4. Enter the date you'd like the transfer to happen and include a memo if you'd like.
  5. Select Transfer Funds.
  6. To make your transfer recurring, check the box next to the Amount field that says, “Make this a recurring transaction.”

Note: When you send money from your Peak Credit Union account to another financial institution, the funds are withdrawn from your account on the date you selected on the Transfer Funds screen.

Transfer limits:

  • Up to $2,000 per day
  • Up to $6,000 per month

How to change automated transfers

If you’ve created a recurring automated transfer and want to change the date or amount:

  • Cancel the transfer.
  • Copy the canceled transfer and make the changes you'd like to the date or amount.
